Here's a shoutout to the level designers at Anet...good job, I like the scenery. As for the rest of you, GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND DO SOMETHING INNOVATIVE. I spent the whole summer gathering up cash and materials so that all I could find for my monk was a bunch of crap? Even my ele, who is still toting around prophecies armor...I thought at least they could come up with something extravagant without being over the top. Here's an idea, hire some kids right out of college just to do a bit of concept art, or hold a competition...don't just mix and match a couple of armors and throw a paint job that's ever so slightly reminiscient of asuran or dwarven design. Make this armor something I actually want to stay up till midnight to get my hands on, or does it not matter now that you've got my money? Way to be a bunch of douchebags...

Reskinning the Ranger FoW Hands and Boots for Monument = a big no-no.

Armor is one of my favorite things to buy in the game - its where all my money goes. But it looks like almost everything is a reskin, which is greatly disappointing to me. Add to that that they require a bit of grind even to get the armor, makes the 40 "new" armors a bit of an exaggeration
I'm not trying to complain, I think GWEN (so far as I have played) Anet's most polished product yet, but in this one area it falls completely on its face.

I really wonder where the dedication with anet went. They really went above and beyond in all aspects of gaming with each campaign, but they seem to have half assed the armors in this one.

lol and I remember all the people saying during the preview
"THIS IS JUST THE PREVIEW, THIS IS ALL BOUND TO CHANGE IN LOOKS SO DON'T GET WORKED UP ABOUT IT BEING RESKINS"
I just spent 40 bucks on pretty scenery (which i can't see too much with my crappy comp) and some weapons... the armor is just.... wow :\ i mean one warrior armor is the result of 3 different reskins...
now I will at least say the male warrior silver eagle is "ok" (except the helm) but really its all just utter crap. I been looking at all the armors on the wiki... HORRIBLE
the got it nicely with the common armor stuff (though stuff like chaos arms wont be a common sight) but those are single armor pieces. that couldnt have taken away from them making nice AUTHENTICALLY NEW sets of armor.
Where is Gaile Grey to comment about this?

I think the different tiers of weapons are pretty cool like that.

yea...
I can understand everyone's opinions on this matter. I agree that it is acceptable to use some old concepts in creating new armor arts. But i must say that this can only go so far, i swear on the warriors part ever since Obsidian armor was made waaaay back in Prophecies before factions was even thought of in every campaign since its art has been redesigned sooo many times. In all seriousness ANETs originality is going down the toilet. I seen alot of the armor an its just pathetic. I'm mainly a ranger an the new armors are pathetic in the original sense. The asuran armor is a revised drakescale set, Vanguard is prophacies collectors, and dwarf is Ancient. Seriously ANET has had a bunch of design weapons contests, why can't they have a design armor contest? Since their own designing ability and originality is beyond slipping.

This "new" armor baffles me. 99% of the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall armors were unique on the necromancer. Then things like this come along.
I purchased the "Monument" Necromancer armor.
The armor is 4 different pieces *the scar is the Ancient Scar Pattern* The chest is a re-skin of an armor found both in Prophecies and Factions, the gloves come from Nightfall's Elite Sunspear armor, the pants are a re-skin of the Elite Cultist, and the shoes appear to have come from a Canthan starter armor.
Aside from this random mix of armor pieces, which I dyed black, there are red spots in several areas, as if they did not take the time to even make sure the armor can dye correctly. If i wanted random pieces of armor, I would have purchased random pieces of armor.

If nobody remembers, this "expansion" was a rushjob.
They were working on Campaign 4, and they dropped it when the idea of GW2 came up, and made GW:EN to transition between the 2 games. yes GW:EN was a rushed project, alot if not all of the armor are reskins and it was tragically short. It's the price we all pay for GW2 to have enough time to be designed properly so we have a nice game to play. Really all the nagging that ArenaNet has to go through because people aren't happy is unbelievable. Because honestly I'd like to see any one of you do a better job that they did in the time GW:EN was built.

I seriously doubt I would buy GW2 after seeing so many reskins of weapons and armors. I don't mind if they provided half the amount of weapons and armors but I can't stand it while they promised 40 new armors, half of them were actually reskins.

If, in fact this game was a "rush job" wouldn't it make sense for them to fix armors and add content? This game is great in some points, but as bad, or worse, than factions in others; but i would rate factions higher than this, solely because of the armors. Armor matters to a lot of people, it's customization, which people want, people are happy when they have good options for customizing their characters.

Okay, I saw all the armors too on the Wiki and I must say I'm really really disappointed, kinda disgusted, they really did a nasty job in assorting those pieces of armor together, for the Monk for example, they took for the Dwarven armor some pieces of the 15 kurzick which is really different than the other armors and put it together with chest of the saintly, and oh well, it sucks...

Please take the time to post your input on Gaile's Talk page started a Topic Discussion on this same issue, with more people putting their input, giving suggestions and comments, I strongly believe Anet will hear us out.

I think they need to put more effort into their creations instead of recycling. I love GW, but anet needs to get more creative. I bet this community can do a better job in armors than anet. Just my opinion ^-^.
